Anime I would like to watch someday

Now,I liked anime but I never really seeked out much anime on my own,I usually just saw whatever was on Toonami or Adult Swim (same fucking shit,I know) but at some point,I always kept hearing about all these anime.

I eventually made a watch list, but my god,I will never get through it,especially when I have alot of video games as well that I have to finish. The reason for this blog entry is to make prioritize what I should watch and to actually find out what the hell some of these animes are, since some of them were just kinda recommended to me with no information,so it's useful for me as well.
I will prioritize the shorter animes first, and if it's something recent,I will usually wait for the series to finish it's run, because I hate watching one episode a week.
I also have alot of older anime on here,so availability will also be an issue.

Saint Seiya-Yeah,I'm episode 74 as of this writing,so I'm around 70 percent done. The reason it takes priority is because Toei animation is a douche when it comes to anime on youtube.

Hetalia-All of the episodes are about 5 minutes,so I should be able to marathon it.

Rose of Versailles-I already have the first 20 episodes,I just need the time to watch them.

Stein;s Gate-I heard good things from it and it's only 25 episodes or something like that,so looking forward to that.

Attack on Titan-So this is the new anime that's being hyped.I'll check it out when it's done.

Angel Beats-12 episodes. That's all I know and I hope this surprises me,I remember someone said it was great but I don't remember why.

Shigofumi: Letters from the Departed-Just the title alone grabs me,hope it lives up to it's interesting concept.

Naruto SD-Already on episode 32,so I'm halfway done

Saint Seiya Omega-I'll wait until it's finished to watch the rest,on episode 24 so far.

Ouran High School Club-It's apparently pretty funny.Yeah,I really want to watch it.

Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)-Again,great things and only 25 episodes.

Someday's Dreamers-I've not heard anything from this anime,but it's only 12 episodes,so I suppose I can manage.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha-I'm too big into magical girl series, but I heard it's better than I would think,so hope this doesn't disappoint.13 episodes.

Lucky Star-This is one of those animes that I always see from time to time on video thumbnails and stuff like that, but I've never seen it.This 24 episode anime is mostly here because my curiousity and see why it's so popular.

Tatakau Shisho-I don't what the hell it is,but it's 27 episodes.I'm starting to see a theme going on here.

Code Geass Akito the Exiled-Once the second part comes out,I'll watch the first one then move on to the second. Why watch something if you can't marathon it?

Polar Bear Cafe-What the hell is this,I thought it was just a weird name, but it DOES seem to be about polar bears in a cafe!Anyway,it's around 50 episodes(Why?)

Azumanga Daioh-I think this is a comedy series, and like Lucky Star,I've seen it around, but I haven't actually watched it.

Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai-No idea but I do remember seeing that girl with the eyepatch in a really funny gif.Now to watch this series in the proper context.13 episodes.

Princess Tutu. The name is ridiculous, but I kinda like the art style and it seems like a nice story.26 episodes

Accel World-I heard it's basiclly Sword Art Online, but I'm not dying to check this out.24 episodes

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun-I don't know,might be good.13 episodes.

Chi's Sweet Home-100 EPISODES ABOUT A CAT?!Well,I think it'll be years before I watch this.

Hunter X Hunter-I know it's by the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho, one of my favorite animes, but there's an older anime and a reboot of the anime,so I really don't know which I should watch or if I should just watch one.

Minami-ke-Might be good,another 13 episode anime.

Seitokai Yakuindomo-ANOTHER SCHOOL SERIES?What it is with Japan and every anime taking place in school?

Kaichou wa Maid Sama-This one sounds like Seitokai Yakurindomo but with maids.Eh,who knows?

Fist of the North Star-I'm mostly watching this because it's an old school anime in the same vein as Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya

Inu x Boku SS-Well it's ongoing,so I guess I'll watch it in the future when it's done.

Itazura Na Kiss-I'm more interested in the backstory of the manga instead of actually watching it.

Uta no Prince-sama-Who recommended this to me?Why?I'll keep an open mind, but I'm not in the target audience,so I may not like it.

Candy Candy-Mostly due to historical significance, but who knows how hard it'll be to find this series.

Galaxy Express 999-An older anime, but I heard great things, only problem is to track it down.
Edit:Ah,it's on Crunchyroll, but I still have to watch the movie first then the series.

The Irresponsible Captain Tylor-I heard this is good, but I hope it's not hard to find.

Zegapain- I remember on a podcast that these two guys said it was good.Yeah.

Revolutionary Girl Utena-One of those shoujo animes but I think it has a good story.

Welcome to the NHK-Interesting premise, and reccomended by a few friends.

B'TX-Another anime by the creator of Saint Seiya,I really want to see this, but I don't know where to start looking for this obscure anime.

Dr.Slump-That comedy anime by the creator of Dragon Ball,it's a crime that it's not subbed yet.As more and more episodes get subbed, then I'll begin watching.

The Wallflower-I may or may not like the art style but it's worth a shot.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-Like Lucky Star,it's that popular anime that I always see but never have seen.

39 ANIMES?!Maybe getting back into anime was a bad idea,I should've stuck with my video games. That's not even counting Naruto Shippuden and animes I want to rewatch!

So I have to pretty much exclusively watch anime, and stop playing video games.I'm surprising ok with that.I hope.

So today has been good to me

Not only is it a school holiday, all my anime dvds from RightStuf came in.

BEHOLD!
I haven't watched the Rose of Versailles aside from the first episode, but my initial impression is that it's great.

The Champion's Road OVA is pretty good, but since the dub is bad,so I recommend listening to it in Japanese, because it just makes the whole thing much better.

Then we have the Knights of the Zodiac part one by DIC,otherwise known as Saint Seiya:Butchered Edition.I always heard it was bad and after watching the first four episodes,I can confirm that it is quite bad.

Replaced music, random blood edits and that cheesy 90's dialogue, this is a disaster,I'm sure if I watched this as a kid,I would've changed the channel.

Anyway, after that,I went to Youtube to search for Knights of the Zodiac, because I wanted to see it someone uploaded some clips so I could make a blog entry on how bad it is.

WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

And then I stumbled across a channel that has all of the original 114 Saint Seiya episodes.
This is amazing,I never seen the end of the original series and better yet,it's english subtitled, albeit full of awkward wording and misspellings occasionally, but for a 20+ year old anime,I'm willing to put up with it.

If you ever wanted to see what the series is all about, then the original is probably the best place to start, that's where I started and you should be fine.

If  not,try Saint Seiya Lost Canvas or Saint Seiya Omega, the more recent entries in the franchise.

Oh yeah, and RightStuf already has a listing for the Saint Seiya movies,so I'm glad it's not crazy expensive http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/KT-iwuCzqOzQkTCsRd/browse/item/98180/4/0/0

Localization with games and such

So April 17,2013 was Nintendo Direct. There was like 6 Mario game and then bam!Earthbound confirmed for a Wii U rerelease.

Nintendo threw a bone for the fans, while there were many fans who always made an effort to get Nintendo to listen,I was one of the people that gave up."Nintendo can't be bothered,if they didn't release Earthbound during the Wii's life cycle, and still haven't because of copyright issues, then they never will."

Of course,I didn't say this outloud because who am I to bring down the hopes of fans, let Nintendo do that.Well, now it happened and it will coming out on the Wii U virtual console, and will probably bring down the prices on ebay, which is good, since it's a colossal task just to play it.
I don't think I ever saw that many "fake" reproduction cartridges for a game quite like Earthbound, frankly,it's a high entry fee just to play a SNES game.

When did Nintendo start using
macro text in their images?
Well,it's happening and now all the fans have to do is actually buy the game.It would be hilarious after all of this happens, the game somehow bombs anyway, but I actually think people will buy it.After it sells well, then I assume Nintendo can begin talking about Mother 3 on the 3DS and everyone will be happy.

This has been happening a lot lately, with the Operation Rainfall trilogy as it's unofficially known,I thought we were never getting Pandora's Tower and here I am,playing it.

Project X Zone, that crazy crossover RPG,probably had way too many licensing issues to ever come out over here. And we're getting it this June!

Oh.Can't say much about SMT4.
I see how it is.
Bravely Default was that Square Enix RPG that was the closest to Final Fantasy as you can get and no word on that side for a while, until Nintendo Direct that is.

Shin Megami Tensei IV.We all knew Atlus was going to bring it out here, but nobody could anticipated that we would be getting it this summer.I hope the localization isn't rushed because of that, though.

Ex Troopers, that Lost Planet anime spin off that looked more appealing than Lost Planet 3 and it's....not coming over, here.Huh.Where the hell is the Operation for that game?

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f PS3 version had that whole Facebook thing but who knows if that had any significance.
Well,at least Sega's trying unlike Capcom, how hard would it be to make a "Like and share if you want Ex Troopers released in the west!" banner?

J-Stars Vs.If a fighting game with major anime characters that are all licensed in the United States can't come over here, then that's just bullshit. How can you say licensing is an issue when Project X Zone has like 30 franchises in one game and it's still coming out over here?
And it's a fighting game, which I would it's more marketable then an RPG.

Seriously, that would be a major step back if this game doesn't come out for North America and Europe.

I think there's always games that aren't going to get localized because of reasons, but we should buy the games and buy dlc (if it's not overpriced) to show the publishers that there is a market for these games.I'm not the type to buy dlc but I did for Valkyria Chronicles and Fire Emblem,I'm willing to go the extra mile to show support for these franchises, and I'm hopeful that these game companies keep supporting their loyal niche audience.

Saint Seiya

Assuming you never saw it (or even heard of it),this anime is basically a fighting anime in the same vein as Dragon Ball Z and Naruto but with greek mythology sprinkled in.It also has some of the cool techniques in all of the anime I watched, better than Naruto and Dragon Bal techniques, but I think it's tied with Yu Yu Hakusho in that regard.

Anyway, this showed up on Cartoon Network way back around the late 90s/early 00s
However, that version was crap, they changed all the blood to a blue color and everyone's voices sucked and the plot was delivered in such a bad way,it's no wonder why it didn't catch on.
This version was called Knights of the Zodiac.

I think I watched one episode when I was young, but I can't really remember what I thought of it back then.

Years passed and I was talking with my older cousin, and he told me that Saint Seiya was as popular as Dragon Ball Z in Mexico,so that got me really interested, because I was and still am a huge Dragon Ball Z fan.Oh yeah,my cousin lives in Mexico,so he's speaking from experience, just to give context to the story.

I don't know why I didn't seek it out immediately but time passed. One day,I was at Best Buy,browsing the anime section, and I saw the Saint Seiya Collection One box and of course I picked it up.The Collections are basically the uncut version and do a much better job than the Knights of the Zodiac version.

Then I went as soon as the Collection Two came out and bought that. And then I picked up the Collection Thr...oh wait, that never came out, because nobody knows about it and nobody bought it!
So the people that did buy this series are left off on a cliffhanger on one of the arcs, and now the company that brought it over here,ADV Films,is down and out,so Saint Seiya is dead in the states!

The series in general is famous around the world,EXCEPT for the United States, and a few spin off series have been made such as Lost Canvas and Omega. Those can be watched for free on Crunchyroll and these are somewhat giving Saint Seiya a presence in the English speaking world of anime.

Diskotek,an anime publisher known for focusing on older anime,is releasing the Saint Seiya Movies this summer.

Both will be available June 25,2013

I will of course be picking these up as soon as I can,and with the presence of Saint Seiya on Crunchyroll,I hope that these will do well.

Now,this is more of a daydream if anything, but if the movies do well, maybe Discotek could release the rest of the original Saint Seiya dvds?Discotek hasn't made any comments about that, and even if they did express interest in that, there's still the hurdles of licensing to jump through, but I can dream, right?

Anyway,I hope you at least know about the series now,and better yet, support the Saint Seiya franchise.I've done my part, and I will end this by showing off my Saint Seiya stuff, because I like taking pictures of stuff.

I even imported this game,it's ok.

I want the other Saints now.
This series is great.

What games I'm interesting in 2013 (updated)

I didn't think there would be so many games in 2013,so not only will I list the ones that are coming out,I'm listing the ones that came out this year.

Tales of Xillia. If anyone knows me,you know that this is the game I'm most excited for in 2013,and I already preordered the Collector's Edition, because it's awesome.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f PS3 version.Sega made a banner on their Facebook page basically gauging interest and that picture now has 25,000 likes,16,000 shares and 3000 comments.
Who knows if's that enough but I'm willing to give it a shot.

GTA 5.I still probably won't buy it until a GOTY edition comes out,but it's worth mentioning anyway.

Ni No Kuni.I've heard pretty much universal acclaim for this game,so I'll check it out sometime.

The Last of Us.This is the big one,I know everyone is going to be freaking out over this game, but I don't think I can buy it because other obscure games take priority.Gonna support the "little guys" you know.

Sly Cooper 4.I've heard mixed reception,Adam Sessler said the game was avergage, but ScottishDuck,a Let's Player I'm following on Twitter, said that it's the best Sly game,so I'm torn because I value both of their opinions,so I have to play it myself to see how it stands.
We don't get too many 3D platiformers these days.

Deadpool. The game might be a hack and slash, which I'm not in the mood lately, but I'm still keeping my eye on that.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Gates to Infinity.I've heard that the story in this one is the best yet,but it has the worse gameplay out of all the Mystery Dungeon games,so I'm also torn on this one.

Project X Zone.I'm happy this game is coming out over here,we knew the game had an audience, but the only real hurdle was the licensing.Thankfully, they sorted it out and we'll get to play this crazy crossover.

Pandora's Tower.A surprise reveal by XSEED,we're getting this game!I've honestly given up hope on this game, but they came through,I'm looking forward to the last worthwhile game on the Wii this Tuesday, provided no shipping issues happen.

Can you believe Nintendo of Europe
made this?

Pokémon X and Y.Of course I'm going to get this.Despite what I may think about the Pokémon initially,I know I'll be able to at least tolerate them.

Ace Attorney 5.You can never have enough Ace Attorney.Enough said.

Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney.Again,Ace Attorney alone is worth it.

Batman Arkham Origins.I like the Batman games, but this one has everything against it,the writer who wrote the last two games is gone,Rocksteady is not the developers,I'm just not excited for this one. Will probably pick up the inevitable GOTY edition.

Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate. The Arkham games were already somewhat like a Metroidvania style of game in terms of structure, but this one is in 2D!Not sure how they'll handle the combat and the stealth here, but I'm more excited for this game then the console games.

Time and Eternity.I have some interest in this JRPG,but I'll definitely wait,as interesting as the premise was,I heard that the combat here was a dealbreaker for many people who imported the game.

I think this is gameplay.
I think that's it,alot of games, when I should be finishing the ones I started but whatever,I'll do it in the summer.

SMT X Fire Emblem

This is the weirdest crossover yet,I think, the last one that surprised me was Pokémon Conquest.

Crossing the modern Shin Megami Tensei series with the fantasy Fire Emblem feels weird, and I will give my thoughts on this, even though this game's been announced like 2 months ago.

On the Fire Emblem side of things,I played Path of Radiance,Radiant Dawn,Shadow Dragon and Awakening.
On the SMT side,I played 5 hours Devil Survivor Overclocked.I really want to play Persona 4 Golden but that's all the experience I have with the SMT series.
I'm sure you can find someone else that put a lot more time into both series than I have, but whatever,I still want to talk about this.

To my limited knowledge from only playing Devil Survivor Overclocked,I'd say that the Shin Megami Tensei characters would kill the Fire Emblem characters.

I personally like Fire Emblem more than the Devil Survivor game, but I can't ignore the fact that the SMT characters fight demons as common enemies as opposed to the generic soldiers from Fire Emblem.
In Fire Emblem, only mages can use magic and pretty much any character in any SMT game at least has some form of magic, and while I never finished Devil Survivor,I assume you fight bosses way above the level of Fire Emblem.

Based on the power difference,we can assume the jumbled mess of a story will be the everyone fighting against a common enemy or they will have to nerf the SMT characters by making some bullshit about "This dimension weakens our power".
I can honestly see both happening.

Also,I wonder if thee crossover will just pick out the tried and true mechanics of their respective series or if they will include stuff like the Pair Up option from Fire Emblem Awakening or if the Demon Fusion will be in this game,or maybe the social links in they really want to get in depth, but I feel that's too ambitious,so I feel the developers would want to play it safe and are betting that the crossover in itself is enough for people.

Ok,this game will be for the Wii U.While I am happy that the Wii U will be getting some JRPG love,I'm not sure what justifies it being there instead of the 3DS,since Japan love gaming on the go.
There's not really any RPG's on the Wii U at the moment, and I assume it's because no one knows how to take advantage of the Touchpad instead of just being a second screen, since the 3DS has the same thing, but it's non intrusive compared to the way the Wii U would do it.

Aside from the improved graphics,I see no way how it would benefit the game.
Maybe better online or something, who knows, maybe they just want to move units in Japan and this is the best way to do it.All of the recent Fire Emblem and SMT have been for the handheld systems,so I don't think I'm wrong in this regard.

I'm know Atlus and Intelligent Systems are working on it,so it should be a quality game with both of them backing each other up.

We didn't really get much info from the teaser trailer, they just basically announced it.

One thing to note that the game will have will probably go for the Teen rating, since I can't imagine Nintendo approving one of their games with a Mature rating but for all I know, maybe they will because the game might be more centered on SMT and less on Fire Emblem.

There's not anything else to speculate on except for the effect this might have on the respective series.

Fire Emblem Awakening sold pretty good, the best it's ever done over here in America and did pretty good in Japan as well.

Devil Survivor 2 sold ok over here I assume,by Atlus standards, and that game is getting remade for the 3DS.
SMT 4 is coming out in a couple of months for Japan and I assume it will be a year until we see an English release.
Soul Hackers is coming out next month, and I assume that game won't break any records.
Persona 4 Golden is Atlus' killer app even though it was on the Vita,I heard it did good all things considered.

Atlus' games usually sell a small amount and Fire Emblem at its weakest can still barely beat the best selling SMT games,in America at least.

Maybe this crossover will help the SMT series here in America,Awakening is the pinnacle of the series in terms of sales and pairing a somewhat similar RPG game with Fire Emblem has to good for said series.

As long as the crossover game has a casual mode,I'm almost convinced that Awakening sold as well as it did because the permadeath aspect intimidated many people from trying the games out so it's in the best interest for SMT to have an easy mode,if they want the series to sell well in places besides Japan.
Japan loves to grind apparently, everyone else in the world can't tolerate it as much as they can,so make it more accessible and you should be good to go.

If they do just that, the SMT games will get a bigge fanbase, which means more money for them, which means more localized titles for us,so I hope everyone goes smoothly.

Hopefully we'll get more info on E3,but remember, this was announced thorugh a Nintendo Direct, which was announced like a day in advance,so we might be getting more details at any given time.

Breaking the ice with a nintendo ds

This entry is just about how my borderline obsessive hobby helped me with my social awkwardness back then,I'm better now than I used to be,but I still have a long way to go before I reach my ideal status.

I used to be a little more outgoing and loud in middle school but for some reason,I became more introverted in high school, maybe I became more aware or something,I'm still not really sure

Freshman year was the year when I didn't make any new friends,I just talked more to some of my old friends.I was bored in the classes where I had no friends but at that point,I got used to being alone and often thought about deep stuff, and I was content with that.

Sophomore year,I talked to some of my classmates from freshman year and became friends, but a notable thing was that I started to bring out my DS Lite,at least in elective classes.
I was a little shy about playing my Nintendo DS in high school but nobody seemed to give a shit or thought differently of me,so I went on doing my thing.

In my pre-law class, that helped me make a new friend,Luis, who for the life of me I can't remember his last name but he sat next to me because he wanted to see or whatever and after sometime,we got to taking about RPGs,mainly Tales of Symphonia.
I lost touch with him after that year because he graduated, but he was pretty cool.

In my junior year,I pretty much did the same thing,my law 1 class I at least managed to make small talk with a dude named Brandon, and while we really didn't hit it off,at least we're on good terms.
Later on in the year,a new student suddenly appeared, his name was Alex.

He pretty much outright said he sat next to me because he wanted to see what I was playing and of course I let him,I had plenty of games to show off. He's pretty cool,we're also on good terms but I wish I had him for other classes

Now my senior year, the year I'm currently in right now.Again,in Law 3 class,my ds...I mean my Zelda 3DS helped me.
I made a friend in Hector, and we're pretty good friends. He's into video games and anime, and he's well versed in the internet.Yes,even on THAT side of the internet, the side I actively try to avoid.
It's a wonder we didn't meet sooner, considering how similar our hobbies are.

Anyway the point was is that my DS did help me out sometimes but I didn't mention that there were always classes that I never talked, and maybe that's a good thing, because maybe they could've been bad people or something but I can't ignore the fact that maybe it was my DS that prevented people from talking to be because I was busy or something.

Being quiet is pain sometimes, you know that your shy but other people may see you as arrogant for not talking to everyone else and that just hurts your chances to talk to people.

Anyway, for college,I plan on doing the same exact thing, because that's pretty much what I do.

I won't post this on Twitter, but I don't mind having it on the blog though,so if you found this, then congrats.

Oh god, this sounds like a bad school essay paper or something,I hope you never find this.
